The words “early payout” are music to the ears of punters world wide.
In very basic terms, it means you are going to be paid as if your bet has won even though it is still running and could eventually lose. Who wouldn’t be happy with that?
Many bookies run these offers as a way to attract your custom, and the requirements for your bet to qualify are usually very low. Plus, they are usually applied automatically, so you don’t even need to do anything out of the ordinary to benefit. This makes them incredibly popular.
They tend to be limited to football at a lot of bookmakers but there are some using early payouts on other sports too, so if you aren’t football fan don’t let that put you off.
I have recommended a few good early payout promotions below, and I will explain how they work in more detail further down the page.
Current Early Payout Offers

Place a bet on the match winner market with 10bet and if your team takes a 2 goal lead, you can be paid out as a winner even if they draw or lose. This applies to pre-match single and multiple bets on selected football leagues including the Premier League, EFL Championship and Champions League.

On NFL games, place a pre-match bet on the money-line or fulltime result markets and if your team takes a 17-point lead, you could be paid as a winner no matter the final result. This applies to both single and multiple bets. Please note that fulltime results are based on 60 minutes of play whereas money-line bets include extra/over time.
How Do They Work?
Although the concept is easy enough to explain, the details of each early payout offer will be a little different from one bookmaker to another.
They are all great offers, but there are are criteria that need to be matched in order to trigger the early payout – bookies aren’t randomly overcome with generosity and decide to give their money away willy nilly.
It’s the specifics of these criteria which can vary.
The most common early payout promotion is used with football matches.
You will see a good number of “If your team goes 2 goals up your bet wins” type offers. I’ll use this one as an example since it is the most common variant of the early payout.
Let’s say there is a game between Tottenham and West Ham and you have a fiver on it. You have backed Tottenham, who are favourites, but with it being a London derby people are expecting a bit of a battle.
Imagine Spurs go 1-0 up in the first half. The promotion won’t trigger yet because they are only one goal ahead. Then the Hammers pull one back shortly after the second half kicks off. Drat. However, Tottenham find a rhythm and gain the lead around the 65th minute. It’s 2-1 but they are still only 1 goal in front, so no early payout yet.
Some reckless defending brings down a Tottenham player in the box and it’s a penalty. It goes in. 3-1. Now Spurs are 2 goals ahead so the early payout is triggered and your bet is paid out. Even if West Ham shock us and bang two more in before full time bringing the score to 3-3 it wouldn’t matter.
You just had to be in front by 2 goals at some point in the match and you were, so you were paid out. Of course, if the score remained at 3-1 you would have won anyway, but this promotion is there for those occasions when it all goes wrong.
I have seen early payout offers on American sports too such as:
- American Football
- Ice Hockey
- Basketball
Instead of using goals these offers are based on points. So perhaps an NFL based promotion states your team has to go ahead by 14 points at some stage, for example. It’s the same thing, it’s just been tweaked for the sport in question. You could do it with horse racing too: if a horse goes x lengths ahead at any point in the races, for example.
Bookies can use this offer on any sport and with any criteria they choose. It just so happens that football is the most bet on sport in the UK, so that’s what the promotion is used for the most.
Isn’t This the Same as Cash Out?
Nope.
Cash out gives you control over exactly when your bet ends, but the amount you get varies based on the state of the bet at that point. The more likely your bet is to win the higher the cash out value you will be, but it will never pay the same amount as it would if your bet were to run and win.
It also costs you extra because the bookie takes an additional margin, rake or vig or whatever you prefer to call it. This is built in to the cash out price you are offered.
While early payouts also end your bet early, they give you the full amount you stood to win, in cash, with no deductions. It’s as though your bet ran to the conclusion of the event and won.
However, you don’t get to control when the bet ends like you do with cash out.
Common Terms and Conditions
As with all promotions at online betting sites, early payout offers come with terms and conditions.
Once again, the specifics will be unique to each betting site, but there are some common themes to understand in this area. Always check the specific terms of the bookie you are using.
One I see a lot is that the bets must be made pre-match. So live bets won’t count. This is understandable – once a game begins things can change very quickly indeed.
The offer is usually only valid for bets on the ‘to win’ market too. If you have bet on the correct score or draw no bet or something like that it probably won’t qualify for the early payout promotion. Watch out for restrictions on enhanced prices and odds boosts too, they almost certainly won’t qualify.
If you bet on more obscure leagues and competitions, you should check these will be included in the offer. Bookies may have a list of what is and isn’t included.
What About Accas?
Early payout offers are often included with acca selections, but again, check the specifics of your bookie.
This is amazing because it gives your selections a greater chance of coming in.
It’s perfectly possible for a losing acca to become a winning acca based purely on the strength of the early payout promotion. Imagine an 8-fold accumulator with 6 winners and 2 losers, but those 2 losers both went ahead by two goals before ending in a draw.
At another betting site that acca would be yet another lost bet. At a betting site offering the early payout promotion it’s a rare win.
That said, acca boost promotions may not apply if an acca wins via an early payout promotion. You’ll get your regular payout, but no boosted winnings.
